NGO Website and Institution Management ERP for Mother Wings Care Home
Mother Wings — Ammachirak — is a care home for elderly women run by the Adoor Diocese of the Malankara Mar Thoma Syrian Church in Alappuzha, Kerala. We built its public face and its back office together: a Laravel website that tells the home's story and turns goodwill into structured sponsorships and donations, and an institution management ERP that runs the administration behind it.
🎯 The Challenge
Dedicated in April 2022 as a Ruby Jubilee initiative of the diocese, Mother Wings shelters elderly and isolated women regardless of caste, religion or background — care its founders insist is a right, not charity. The home is a traditional Kerala Nalukettu built around an open courtyard, with a chapel, its own kitchen and accessible corridors. What it did not have was any presence online: supporters heard about the home by word of mouth, giving happened informally, and there was no place a well-wisher could see the story, the faces or the need.
The brief had two halves. Publicly, the home needed a website that presents the story with the dignity the subject demands and converts sympathy into committed support — not a one-page brochure with a bank account number at the bottom. Internally, an institution caring for dependent residents runs on records: admissions, health notes, donations, sponsorships, receipts, staff and expenses. All of that lived on paper and in individual phones, which meant reporting to the diocese managing committee was manual every time.
💡 Our Solution
We delivered the public website and the internal ERP as one connected build:
- A story-first NGO website: the home's history, vision, people and Nalukettu campus presented across dedicated About sections, photographed and written to carry the "dignity, rights and justice" positioning rather than pity-driven fundraising copy.
- Structured giving instead of a bare account number: three defined support tiers — Sponsor a Mother at ₹5,000 a month, A Day of Meals, and Medicines & Health Care — each with its own page explaining exactly what the money does, alongside general donation and volunteer routes.
- Content the staff run themselves: gallery albums and a news section managed in-house, so events like the annual Christmas carol and diocesan visits go online without a developer in the loop.
- Institution management ERP: a role-based back office covering admissions and resident records, donation and sponsorship ledgers with receipting, staff administration and expense tracking — replacing the paper registers and giving the managing committee reports on demand.
- Built on our standard stack: Laravel with a Vite-compiled front end, responsive across devices, with a privacy policy and the structural SEO groundwork (clean URLs, Open Graph, sitemaps) in place from day one.
📈 Results & Outcomes
The home now has a public presence that matches the seriousness of its work, and an office that runs on records instead of memory:
- Live at motherwings.org — story, facilities, people, gallery, news, support tiers, donation and volunteer routes all online
- Three sponsorship products a supporter can commit to in one visit, from a day's meals to fully sponsoring a resident at ₹5,000/month
- Staff publishing independently: the gallery and news sections are updated by the home's own team as events happen
- One ERP as the office's system of record for residents, donations, sponsorships, receipts, staff and expenses — with the diocese's committee reporting drawn from it rather than compiled by hand
